Reflections 2019-11-22

Today is a great morning!

Last night I read "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod. It motivated me to wake up at 6am and do a number of things that made the morning amazing.

What my morning looked like:

  • Get out of bed at 6am
  • Drink a full glass of water
  • Start the coffee maker that I set up the night before
  • Brush teeth
  • Meditation (5 minuntes)
  • Appreciation (5 minutes)
  • Reading (20 minutes)
  • Exercise (20 minutes)
  • Journal (5 minutes)

For the appreciation I recorded a voice memo on my phone of everything I could think of that I was appreciative for.

I read "Clean Coder" by Uncle Bob Martin. It's something I can really use right now!

For exercise I did a leg stretching yoga class on Glo. I really like the instructor, his name is Tias. He does mostly stretching while laying on the floor and I prefer that to standing routines that involve downward dog, warrior, etc... My main goal is to increase flexibility as I sit a lot and get pretty tight.

During yoga I realized appreciation could be done at work. I plan on inviting my team members to spend 5 minutes sharing our appreciations of our team, the client and anything else we appreciate.
